Oh yeah…the Cardinals were there, too
The Seattle Seahawks walked into Phoenix Sunday with hopes of improving to .500 with an 8-8 record, but walked out with a 7-9 record matching last year’s total.
The Seahawks were down 10 points in the 4th quarter and made a valiant comeback to take the game into overtime. They just couldn’t finish it out, losing the finale 23-20.
Tarvaris Jackson’s numbers were good (21/35 222 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int), but they did not show the minor flaws that have slowed the Seahawks attack recently.
His receivers didn’t help his cause in this game, either, but TJack’s few missed passes and knack for holding onto the ball too long caused some issues on several drives.
Marshawn Lynch was in full Beast Mode again, but fell short of his 100 yard streak and was unable to reach the endzone to extend that streak.
Leon Washington, however, was pretty amazing on his 48 yard touchdown run. You could almost see the booster jets turn on when he hit the first gap in the defense on his way to outrunning Cardinals rookie CB/Punt/Kick Returner Patrick Peterson.
WR Ricardo Lockette had one single catch again in his second game as a full-blown Seahawk, a 61 yard touchdown in the 4th quarter to help comeback to tie the game and send it to overtime.
His speed is just flat out amazing and awe-inspiring. The man can flat out fly.
WR Doug Baldwin upped his team-leading totals with 3 catches for 40 yards.
WR Ben Obomanu, on the other hand, had 3 catches but was thrown to 7 times. He took a page straight out of Anthony McCoy’s book and dropped several easy passes that would’ve extended drives or even added points on the board.
For once in a very long time, the defense didn’t stand out like it normally does. David Hawthorne silently put together 9 tackles and 4 assists. Richard Sherman had an interception.
Alan Branch and Hawthorne each recorded a sack.

Other than that, there was nothing spectacular from our defense. No “WOOO!” hits, no holding the lead receiver in absolute lockdown, nothing of the sort.
It was just an off game for the defense.
Arizona WR Larry Fitzgerald single handedly beat the Seahawks, although he was held out of the endzone.
He was targeted 18 times and made 9 grabs for 149 yards. Don’t let that targets number fool you. Arizona QB John Skelton was way off, and Fitzgerald was diving all over the place, jumping over 2 defenders, etc to make grabs or come damn close to it.
Point is, the Seahawks efforts were flat in this game and they fell flat in the end because of it.
The season is over, the time to speculate and point blame begins.
